What Is the FLAMES Game?
FLAMES is a traditional schoolyard name game that generations of students played in the back pages of their notebooks. Two names are written down, the letters they share are cancelled out one by one, and whatever is left is counted.
That count is then used to strike letters off the word F-L-A-M-E-S — Friendship, Love, Affection, Marriage, Enemy, Siblings — until a single letter survives. That letter is the result, and the whole thing takes about a minute.
