What Does Your Crush Score Mean?

90–97

Major Crush Energy

The name patterns overlap strongly across almost every component — plenty of shared letters, close first letters and balanced lengths. It is a fun, high-scoring result, nothing more.

80–89

Strong Spark

Most components land in the higher range, with a good amount of shared letters and comfortable balance. A fun, upbeat score to share.

70–79

Promising Connection

Some components score high while others sit mid-range, which gives a friendly, balanced total rather than an extreme one.

60–69

Interesting Chemistry

Differences show up in length, vowels or first letters, which pulls the total toward the middle. Contrast can be the interesting part.

50–59

Mixed Signals

Few shared letters and larger gaps between the components keep the total lower. This is only about spelling — nothing else.

45–49

Hard to Read

Almost every component lands low: little overlap, distant first letters and unbalanced lengths. It is a scoring quirk of the spellings, not a comment on anyone.

What Is a Crush Calculator?

A crush calculator is a fun entertainment tool that compares two names and generates a playful compatibility result. You enter your name and your crush's name, and the calculator turns the letters into a score you can laugh about and share.

It is the modern version of the notebook games people played at school — quick, harmless and made for curiosity rather than answers.

How Does the Crush Calculator Work?

Both names are normalized first: converted to uppercase with spaces, apostrophes and hyphens removed so only letters remain. The score is then built from five components.

Shared letters (35%) compares the unique letters that appear in both names. First-letter relationship (20%) measures the circular distance between the two starting letters of the alphabet. Name length harmony (15%) rewards names of similar length.

Vowel harmony (15%) compares the A, E, I, O and U appearing in each name. Letter value compatibility (15%) adds each name's letter values (A=1 to Z=26), reduces both totals to a single digit and compares them on a fixed 1–9 table.

The five parts are combined with their weights and rounded, giving a final score between 45 and 97. The same two names always produce the same result, and swapping them changes nothing.

Can a Crush Calculator Tell If Someone Likes You?

No. A name-based calculator cannot know another person's actual feelings. It only looks at the spelling of two names and applies a fixed formula.

The result is for entertainment and curiosity. If you want to know how someone feels, an honest conversation will always beat a calculator.

Why Do People Love Crush Calculators?

Curiosity is the main reason — a score is a fun, low-stakes way to think about a crush without saying anything out loud.

They are also great with friends: everyone tries their own pairing, compares numbers and argues about the results. That mix of crush conversations, social sharing and pure nostalgia is exactly why these calculators never go out of style.

Is Crush Compatibility Scientifically Proven?

No. This calculator is an entertainment experience and its result is not scientifically validated. Names have no measurable effect on attraction or relationships.

Treat the score the way you would a fun quiz: enjoy it, screenshot it, and do not make decisions based on it.

Who Can You Try It With?

Your Crush

The classic reason anyone opens a crush calculator.

Someone You Like

A light way to satisfy your curiosity, quietly.

Your Best Friend

Compare scores together and see who wins the group chat.

Celebrity Crush

Try a favourite actor, singer or athlete just for fun.

School/College Crush

The nostalgic notebook game, upgraded.

Work Crush

Purely for entertainment — keep it light and respectful.

If you enter a real person's name, remember the result says nothing about that person's actual feelings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Crush Calculator?

It is a free entertainment tool that compares two names and returns a playful compatibility percentage with a fun interpretation.

How does the Crush Calculator work?

It normalizes both names to letters only, then scores shared letters (35%), first-letter relationship (20%), name length harmony (15%), vowel harmony (15%) and letter value compatibility (15%).

Does it use astrology?

No. There are no zodiac signs, rashis, birth charts or planetary calculations involved anywhere in this tool.

Does it use numerology?

No numerology system is used. Letters are given simple positional values (A=1 to Z=26) purely as a scoring device for the game.

Do I need my crush's date of birth?

No. Only two names are needed. No date of birth, birth time or location is ever requested.

Does the spelling of a name matter?

Yes. The score is built from letters, so different spellings or nicknames will produce different results.

Can the calculator tell if my crush likes me?

No. It has no way of knowing anyone's feelings. It only measures patterns between two spellings.

What does a high crush score mean?

It means the two names overlap strongly in the components measured. It is a fun outcome, not a prediction.

What does a low crush score mean?

It only means the letters in the two names have little in common. It says nothing about the people behind the names.

Is the Crush Calculator scientifically accurate?

No. It is entertainment. There is no scientific basis for name-based compatibility.

Can I use a celebrity's name?

Yes. Many people try celebrity crushes for fun. The result is still just a name pattern.

Can I use a nickname?

Yes. Nicknames often produce a different score than full names, which is part of the fun.

Can I calculate the score again?

As many times as you like. Use the Try Another Crush button to clear both names instantly.

Is the calculator free?

Yes, completely free with no account, sign-up or payment of any kind.

Do you store the names I enter?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere or saved.
